Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group
2013 - Present
I am currently working at The Office of the Executive Auditor at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group. In this position I am an active participant in the delivery of our Risk-Based Audit Plan and communication with the Board of Governors of the IDB Group.
I started my tenure at the IDB as a Healthcare and Education Investment Officer, where I modeled and analyzed project financing. In addition to originating deals, I led management consulting projects for: development of prioritization, opportunity and go-to market strategies for the education sector in Latin America.
In 2016, during the reorganization of the private sector operations of the IDB Group, I became an Advisory Services and Blended Finance Officer. In this role, I led strategy, knowledge management and communication initiatives for our products; plus private sector solutions for social, environmental and economic challenges.
Private Commercial Real Estate Fund
2012 - 2013
As a Senior Associate Director I managed finance, project and investor relations to launch a private commercial real estate investment fund. My key accomplishments were managing projects and key stakeholders (governments, architects, engineers and contractors), ensuring project productivity, strategic communications and knowledge exchange.
Born in Rio
2010 - 2011
The idea for my novel Born in Rio came to me as I was writing application essays for business schools. Upon completion of my MBA program in 2010, I began putting to paper the plot and storyline of the book. In addition to being involved in all creative aspects of the novel, I also published, produced, designed and marketed the book. In 2012, I was presented with the prestigious Brazilian International Press Awards for Born in Rio and was also an Indie Discovery Award finalist at the Book Expo America.
General Electric Capital
2002 - 2007
I began my professional career right out of college at General Electric (GE) as a Financial Management Program (FMP) summer intern in Ohio. In 2003, I joined GE Capital's 2-year rotational FMP in Chicago, IL, and Stamford, CT. I started my rotation doing account reconciliations and ended it by working on complex mergers and acquisitions deals for all of GE Commercial Finance. In 2005, I moved to Florida to be an Associate Director for GE Commercial Real Estate. Among my key achievements there were: closing non-recourse commercial real estate loans; originating deals, supporting due diligence, processing transactions from application through closing.
